Surah Al Kahf - Ayah No 66

Assalam o Alaikum. Shab-e-Juma Mubarak. May this be a blessed Juma for you and your family.

Today's Ayah No 66 is a statement by Musa AS seeking permission of Khizar AS to follow him if he would teach him what had been taught to him about sound judgement. First of all, appreciate the storytelling style of The Story Teller (Allah swt). Previous Ayah ended with meeting of probably the two most knowledgeable men alive under the sky at that particular point in time. Very next Ayah 66, all unnecessary details of salutations and introductions are skipped. In one line, we are conveyed a conditional request of Musa AS to Khizar AS that had he joined him, would he be taught knowledge? Despite being among the dearest of Allah swt, Musa AS's quest for knowledge was highly admirable.

When asked about the most knowledgeable man, Musa AS  was correct in his assumption that he had to be the most knowledgeable man on earth. Musa AS was Rasool with The Book (Torah). He passed many tests of time and had the privilege of tete-a-tete with Allah swt thus got the title of Kaleem Ullah. Besides, he didn't know anyone more knowledgeable than him unless told by Allah swt. Because Allah swt had to teach us a lesson through Musa AS that there is always one more knowledgeable person than anyone of you (us). Likewise, Khizar AS was one of Allah swt's special servants with special gift of knowledge. Note that even in his case, there is mention of certain knowledge but not all knowledge. Because all knowledge rests with The All Knowing only. 

Now that these contemporary heavy weights come face to face, note that there was mutual respect between them. Great Musa AS was ready to learn from more leaned man with grace, humility and submission. Every word, manner and act of two of the greatest men to have walked on this earth is a word to follow, a manner to adopt and an act to act upon by all of us for all the times to come. What happened next, shall come your way next week, Insha Allah.

Surah Al Kahf- Ayah No 65

Assalam o Alaikum. Shab-e-Juma Mubarak. Prayers and best wishes fir another fantastic Juma fir you and your family.

Today's Ayah No 65 introduces us to a 'Servant of Allah' who was anything but ordinary. After a long journey, Musa AS and his companion, having missed the rendezvous, retraced their steps to meet the man who was more knowledgeable than the The Prophet Musa AS. Allah swt gives him special accreditation by declaring him his slave and bestowing him with a certain knowledge. For centuries there had been debate on him (Allah's slave mentiined in Ayah 65) being an angel or prophet. And like so many other issues of religion, the purpose of his inteoduction to us and the lessons from his story were forgotten.  Why Allah swt introduced him to us in Al Kahf, why He chose Musa AS for this meeting, what this special man/ slave of Allah did & why? Unfortunately, for centuries to this day, we kept wrangling over substance (Noor or clay)  used in his creation (angel or man) or his status (p

angel  or prophet) and not the his purpose or his message.

Although there is no mention in the Quran of a Khizar by name, the Messenger of Allah SAW advised that the person whom Musa AS met and traveled with and mentioned in the Ayah 65 of Al Kahf as Our (Allahs) servant was Khizar AS. 

What we do know for sure about Hazrat Khizar AS is what has been related in the Quran and in the authentic Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah SAW. He was amongst the slaves of Allah Subhanah, upon whom Allah Subhanah had bestowed Mercy from Himself and whom He had taught knowledge from His Own Presence. 

Because not much is known about this mysterious soul, a lot of self-invented folklore and myths are attached to this noble soul and slave of Allah swt. There is absolutely no mention of his height or physical qualities in the Quran or Sunnah, thus Allah Alone Knows how tall he was; neither is there mention regarding whom he met and what he did other than what is related in the Quran of his meeting and travel with Prophet Musa AS in Al Kahf.

However, his meeting and three incidents and lessons therein are priceless marvels and Ayah by ayah we shall go on this treasure hunt expedition in coming weeks.

غیر سیاسی سیاست

 مئی ۲۰ کےملتان جلسے میں عمران خان ان بی بی کا نام نہ لیتا تو بہتر تھا۔ اخلاقی جواز پر نہیں بلکہ شاید سیاسی بنیاد پراس کافائدہ نونی افلاطون اٹھانے کی ناکام کوشش کریں گے۔ بالکل ایسے ہی جیسا انہوں مسجد نبوی والے واقعے سے کیا اور منہ کی کھا کر چپ ہو رہے۔ ان سیاسی  مفلسوں کواس وقت محض ایک ایشو درکار تھا جو انہیں مل گیا۔ اب کم از کم ایک ہفتہ تک تمام چینلز اورسوشل میڈیا پر اعلی اخلاقی اقدار کی پامالی کے دروس  لیگی اور ان کے پروردہ پوری قوم کو سنائیں گے کیونکہ اس مرتبہ شہزادی مریم کا نام لے لیا گیا۔ 

منافقت کی معراج تو ہے یا شاید اس سے بھی اگلا درجہ ہم لوگ حاصل کر لیں۔ ایک عورت جو گھریلو نہیں بلکہ سیاسی شخصیت ہے جو ملک کی باگ ڈور اپنے ہاتھ لینا چاہتی ہے وہ جب زبان کھولے آگ اگلے اور جس کا نام لے لے کر وہ الزام، طعنے اور نہ جانے کیا کیا کہتی رہے اور وہ بندہ ایک دفعہ آگے سے کہہ دے کہ ایسا مت کرو میاں ناراض ہو جائے گا تو بس ایک طوفان بپا۔ چور، بھکوڑا اور اشتہاری  باپ بھی لندن سے بیٹھ کر قوم کے اخلاق تباہ ہونے کا درس دینے لگ گیا۔ بھائی ان محترمہ کو بتائیں اپنی منہ کے ساتھ جو بھی انہوں نے آلہ نار باندھ رکھا ہے اسے اتار دیں، شائستہ زبان اختیار کریں۔ نہ کہیں، نہ کچھ سنیں۔ نہیں تو گھر بیٹھ جائیں۔ واپس اسی مقام چلوں گا جہاں سے بات شروع کی تھی کہ اس بی بی کا نام نہ ہی لیں تو بہتر ہے کیونکہ اس وقت نون لیگ والے اتنے بے بس اور مفلس ہیں کہ یہ ٹاپک ہفتہ دس دن چلا لیں گے۔ 

سیاست بس سیاست ہی ہے اور سیاست ہی رہے گی۔اور ہماری سیاست  الامان الحفیظ۔ کیا بتائیں گے ایک دو نسل بعد والوں کو کہ ملک بہتری کی طرف جارہا تھا کہ پروٹوکول نمبر۱۷  نے پروٹوکول  نمبر ۱ کو اقتدار تے اتروا دیا اور جن کو لائے ان کو بھی دو مہینے میں چلتا کیا۔ کیسا کھلواڑ ہے؟ کیسا گورکھ دھندا ہے ؟ پاکستان کا نقصان کون بھرے گا؟ کوئی عدالت جس میں پاکستان ہرجانے کا دعوی کرے؟ کوئی منصف ہے جو جرمانہ کرے؟ کوئی ایسا ادارہ یا طاقت بھی چاہئے اس ملک میں جو مقتدر اعلی سے یہ تو پوچھ سکے کہ اس کامل سیاسی روش کو جسے آپ “غیر سیاسی”ُکہہ کر پتلی گلی سے نکلنا چاہ رہے ہیں کب  ترک کریں گے۔ معاف کریں اس ملک کو اپنا کام ہی سیدھا کر لیں۔ اپنی اکاؤنٹس اور سروس کے محکمے ہی ٹھیک کر لیں۔   بہر حال اس ملک کے اصل مالک اورکشش ثقل کا مرکز یعنی عوام سڑکوں پر آچُکے ہیں اور آرہے ہیں شہر اقتدار۔ ملک کی بہتری اور اپنی رہی سہی عزت اور ادارے کی ناموس کا خیال کرتے ہوئے بالکل غیر سیاسی رہتے ہوئے جیسے پہلے حکومت بدلی ملک میں الیکشن کا اعلان کروائیں  اس سے پہلے کہ ملک کے مالک انتہائی قدم لینے پر مجبور ہو جائیں۔ میں اپنے انتہائی محدود تجربے، تجزئے اور عقل کی بنیاد پر دیکھتا ہوں کہ لوگوں کو آپ اب روک نہیں سکتے جب تک وہ حقیقی آزادی حاصل نہ کر لیں۔  عمران خان کی شخصیت پرستی کے مضمرات سے آگاہ رہنا بھی ضروری ہے  جو یہ کاتب پہلے بھی آپ کی نذر کرتا رہا اور پھر جاری رکھے گا بس ذرا یہ مدعا جو ابھی چل رہا ہے کسی منطقی انجام کو پہنچ جائے۔ 

صرف اللہ ہی پورے سچ سے واقف ہے۔

*A game of Russian roulette between Zardari and the Establishment with a paralysed and clueless Shahbaz in the middle* -

Over the past few hours, there have been a flurry of developments in every direction, leading to confusion. 

First, a decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has practically signalled the end of Hamza Shabaz's Government in Punjab and created a precarious situation for his father, Shahbaz Sharif in the Federal Government. 

Next, the return of Hafeez Sheikh points to the secret setup of a caretaker government. 

Third, the suo moto notice of the SCP regarding the cases of Shahbaz Sharif and possible amendments to the NAB law, highlight the response to the nefarious agreements made by Shabaz/Zardari in their all party meeting. 

Last but not least, the Federal Government and its allies publicly talked about completing their term, which would require the support of parties, considered close to the Establishment. 

For example, If we look at the statements from BAP of Balochistan and MQM of Karachi, we might get the impression as though they've not received their orders to abandon the Shabaz Government.

On the other hand, if we look at the recent decisions of the SCP, it would indicate that they have very clear direction to pave the way for a caretaker setup. 

So, what exactly is going on? Is the Establishment trying to bring in a caretaker setup or are they continuing to support the existing Government?

Find out below:

After removing Imran Khan, the plan was to rule comfortably for over an year and then pave the way for new elections, in which IK would be reduced to becoming a leader of a provincial party (KPK), instead of a National party with representation across Pakistan. 

Mqm would bite into the PTI vote in Karachi. PPP would try to regain its lost vote in Punjab, by using turncoats to switch from PTI to PPP and even to PMLN. Balochistan would remain with the Establishment and even in KPK, Khan would face stiff resistance from Maulana Fazl aka Diesel.

However, the above plan took a serious hit after an unexpected turnout of people, across Pakistan. This combined with dissatisfaction within a powerful Institution, gave Imran Khan the ability to fight back, something he's done brilliantly to date. 

The sudden spike in Khan's popularity, created confusion within the ranks of PMLN, leading to paralysis and a failure to enact necessary economic reforms, pushing Pakistan towards a catastrophe. 

In response, the Establishment recalibrated its plans and told the new Government to immediately initiate reforms, give a budget and then announce early elections. Also, if the Shabaz government was not willing to do the above, they were told to handover the reigns to a caretaker setup and go home.

And this is where Zardari enters the picture! 

The PPP leader, apparently advised the Government, to neither enact reforms, nor handover the responsibility to a caretaker setup.

His plan involves, sending Bilawal to the US to ask the IMF to give short-term relief to Pakistan, probably for a couple of months, during which Zardari would gut the NAB and then handover the reigns to a caretaker government. This plan would suit Zardari well, but would be nothing short of playing Russian roulette with Pakistan for the next 2 months, as any short-term measures will exacerbate the crisis.

Pakistan is probably incurring a cost of over 500 million US dollars per month, in oil subsidies. Asking the IMF for a couple of billion US$ for a couple of months, just so Zardari could get his way with NAB is true to his spirit and character. The public statements regarding completing the  term of the Government, is most likely a deceptive tactic to buy enough time to murder NAB.

After being made aware of the above plan by the men in brown, the SCP immediately took suo moto notice and sent a signal to PMLN and PPP that if their plan is to continue Pakistan on a ventilator for the next couple of months, while they get rid of their cases and decapitate NAB, before handing over the government to a caretaker setup, it will not be allowed. The SCP will protect the NAB and FIA.

In addition, the decision regarding "LOTAs" opens the way for the removal of the Shahbaz/Zardari Government through a vote of confidence, if they refuse the offer on the table, which as mentioned earlier is twofold: Either enact reforms, give a budget and then call elections or just hand everything over to the caretaker government. 

Thus, in essence this is now turning into a potential battle between Zardari and the Establishment, which would explain the SCP decisions of the past couple of days. 

In this entire scenario, the PMLN seems completely paralysed. First, they were led by the men in brown to overthrow Khan. Now, they are being led by Zardari, into another mess. Some PMLN members, are aware of the fact that there is no sustainable solution for an oil subsidy of over 500 million USD per month, other then getting rid of it. And there is no economic elixir that would improve Pakistan's economy over the next 12 months. This will be an year of tough reforms, high inflation and little development spending. No temporary measures, as being planned by Zardari are going to benefit the PMLN. However, these voices within the PMLN are seemingly being ignored in favor of the foxy Zardari.

Therefore, whether Zardari succeeds or the Establishment, in either case PMLN has already taken a battering over the past month and now they face 1 of 4 outcomes: 

(a). Survive an year and face a disappointed voter

(b). Survive a few months allowing Zardari his NAB reforms and get clobbered in early elections

(c). Get forced out of power by those who brought you into power

(d). Leave on your own now, leaving behind a month of disaster

Unfortunately, while the above explains the motives behind the recent decisions of the SCP (as a tussle between Zardari and the Establishment), it also highlights the complete chaos in Pakistan at the moment, which was completely avoidable had Imran Khan been allowed to complete his term, just as the PPP and PMLN were allowed to complete their terms, going back to 2008.

Surah Al Kahf - Ayah No 64

Assalam o Alaikum. Shab-e-Juma Mubarak. 

The story we are discussing is about Fitn of Knowledge. Theme of this story is that Only Allah knows the whole Truth. Someone asked Musa AS, who is the most knowledgeable man under the sky? Since He (Musa AS) had the unique privilege of one on one neet with Allah swt, so he didn’t think twice before answering that who else than him (Musa AS). Allah swt had to pass on this message through Musa AS to us that true knowledge is passed on to the creatures but little. Besides, Aristotle's famous quote may help us remain humble,  "The more you know, the more you realize you don't know."

We live in the age of information revolution. We mistakenly take information for knowledge but fact of the matter is that information is not knowledge. Everyday we are bombarded with torrents of information through media and internet. We assume that busrts of biased infornation/ analysis is knowledge but its not. It is agenda based information rather disinformation purposefully fed to achieve certain vested intersts or objectives. Apparently, knowledge acquired from search engines/authentic sources (Google, bing etc) and online encyclopedias (Wikipedia, Britannica etc) may appear harmless knowledge/ infornation factories but these sources adroitly remain biased. Sit back and think how could the brains behind these business models remain impartial? The indoctrination is so powerful that even reading through these lines some of you might be thinking how these assertions could be true? Scribe must be cynical. But this is the point. We are so deep into this Fitn of Knowledge/ Information that it is hard to draw lines. We have been given little knowledge by The Creator by design. But we can't even hold in to that knowledge. For the sake of repetition, Quran is True Knowledge along with other Books (in their original forms).

Coming over to today's Ayah No 64. The moment The Master (Musa AS) & The Pupil (Most probably Yusha Ibn Noon) realised that they missed the rendezvous where they could have met more knowledgeable man than Musa AS, they decided to retrace their steps to the same place. What happened next shall wait another week. Till then have a blessed week.

Surah Al Kahf - Ayah No 63

Assalam o Alaikum. Shab-e-Juma Mubarak. Time to connect with Al Kahf, The Cave of Hope. How Al Kahf/ Al Quran is the only Hope? Look around, we are being bombarded with useless information. It creates a false sense of being well informed. In fact, unnecessary torrents of info divert our attention from major/ real issues. How to ensure that this false cloud of info doesn't deceive us? But first let's refresh major issues: who we are? Where we came from? What is our relation with our surroundings (other creatures)? Where are we headed? Only Al Quran has the right answers. Just like a librarian may not have read all  the books in a library apart from library managemen, likewise, carrying information labs in our palms (smart mobiles) look like travelling on autobahn of info it doesn't mean we spend all our energies acquiring true knowledge on this highway. Because information is not knowledge. Rather, too much useless information obscures true knowledge. We are right in the middle of this Fitn and lucky are we that current story of Musa & Khizar AS is about human incapacity to have all true knowledge.

Let's discuss today's Ayah No 63. Keep the background in mind. Musa AS was asked about the most knowledgeable person under the sky and Him being the only man whom Allah swt privileged with tete-a-tete, spontaneously replied that it must be Him (Musa AS). Allah swt had to check Him and through Him us that very little knowledge had been given to the creation on need to know basis. Secondly, there is always more knowledgeable person than you/us. Musa AS was commanded to take a journey (most probably South of Sinai or Egypt) to meet a person(Khizar AS) more knowledgeable than Him. And sign of arrival of meeting point would be when that fried fish would become alive and took to the water. In previous Ayah 62, they had crossed the point where two waters met and the fish had taken its "course" into the water. Word "course" is purposefully kept in double commas (to be discussed later). In last stopover by the rock, Musa AS's aide forgot about the fish. He was certain that Satan made him forget that.This remark should be a source of relief/comfort for us that if we set out in the way of Allah swt and inadvertently forget anything about it, be certain that devil had been able to play his trick on us. Point to take home is that in such situations, we mustn't be hard on ourselves or others because oversight of this scale is the work of Devil. Final part of the Ayah refers to the fish taking its "course into the sea amazingly". The same word عجبا was also used in the same Surah,  Ayah No 9 while referring to the story of The People of The Cave and Epitaph, Allah swt declares it a 'wonder sign' wherein laws of physics were suspended for three centuries' sleep of those young men. Likewise, the fried fish taking its 'wonder course' into the sea is something to ponder about. Yet again, the known laws of physics were suspended and the course it took was more of a portal than usual path to the sea. Quite intriguing and kniw that we are only 4 Ayahs in to this amazing story. We shall discuss the relation of portals with stories of Al Kahf somewhere day.

Governance is paralysed. Justice is for sale. Beggar analysts are busy in falsification. Merasi media is fabricating eulogies of imported government. People ae charged. Unless they kill IK the way they attempted on Shahbaz Gill, he is going to choke Islamabad by the end of this month.Economy is teetering. Inflation is soaring. IMF has asked for assets details of rulers. Beggar went beg taking opportunity of Zakat month and returned empty handed with KSA's demand to return already due 3 Bn USD. UAE turned down as well. No where to turn to, mo where to hide except Avon Field hideout. 

People versus state - Part 5

میں ایک ریٹائرڈ پروفیسر/وائس چانسلر ہوں، بلکہ مجھے چار  پبلک سیکٹر  یونیورسٹیز (ایرڈ یونیورسٹی راولپنڈی، قراقرم انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی گلگت، یونیورسٹی آف گجرات، نیشنل یونیورسٹی آف زرعی سائنسز  پی اے آر سی اسلام آباد)کے بانی وائس چانسلر ہونے کا اعزاز حاصل ہے۔ میں ۱۹۸۶ میں امریکن یونیورسٹی کی highly paid جاب چھوڑ کر ملک کی خدمت کیلئے وطن لوٹا اور چار ہزار ڈالر ٹیکس فری جاب کے مقابلہ میں پرنسپل بارانی کالج راولپنڈی کی ۵۷۵ ڈالر ماہانہ معاوضہ کو ترجیع دی، جس پر مجھے کبھی پشیمانی نہیں ہوئی کیونکہ قومی خدمات میں افراد کو قربانی دینی پڑتی ہے۔

مجھے رونا بہت کم آتا ہے، بلکہ کتنا بھی قریبی عزیز فوت ہو جائے میرے دل میں درد ضرور ہوتا ہے لیکن آنسو نہیں نکلتے اور آہ و بکاہ نہیں کر پاتا، میرے عزیز و اقرباء اور دوست احباب شاید یہ سمجھنے ہیں کہ میں سخت جان ہوں۔

زندگی میں والدہ کی وفات (۱۹۸۴) اور والد محترم کے اس دنیا سے رخصت ہونے (۲۰۰۶) کے علاوہ جہاں تک مجھے یاد پڑتا ہے کہ اگر میں بے اختیار رویا ہوں تو زندگی میں چار ایسے مواقع پر میں ضبط نہ سکا کیونکہ مجھے اپنا وطن خطرہ سے دوچار نظر آیا۔ دسمبر ۱۹۷۱ کو جب ڈھاکہ  فال ہؤا تو میں امریکن یونیورسٹی آف بیروت میں سٹوڈنٹ تھا اور سانحۂ کی خبر میرے ایک فلسطینی دوست سمیر سے سنائی۔ اس صدمہ اگر سمیر میری زندگی بچانے کیلئے مجھے کچھ نہ پلاتا تو شاید میں ریکور نہ کر پاتا۔ پھر جس دن بھٹو مرحوم کو تختۂ دار پر لٹکایا گیا تو میں امریکہ کی میساچیوسٹ یونیورسٹی میں پی ایچ ڈی کر رہا تھا، اس دن بھی میں بے اختیار رویا تھا، اس دن بھی مہتاب اکبر راشدی جو ان دنوں اسی یونیورسٹی میں پولیٹیکل سائنس میں ماسٹر کر رہی تھی اور میں ایک دوسرے کا سہارا بنے تھے۔ بینظیر بھٹو کے قتل کے دن تو میں بارانی زرعی راولپنڈی میں ہونے کے ناطے راولپنڈی جنرل ہسپتال میں کافی دیر سکتا میں رہا۔ 

کچھ روز قبل، آرمی چیف باجوہ صاحب کو شہباز شریف کے سامنے  بیٹھا دیکھا تو عجیب کیفیت ہوئی، چھ ساڑھے چھ فٹ کا جرنیل منہ لٹکائے، نگاہیں نیچے کئے یوں بیٹھا تھا جیسے “ملاح بیڑی روڑ کے بہندا اے”، یقین کریں کہ مجھے جنرل ایوب خان اور جنرل راحیل شریف بہت یاد آئے، جنرل باجوہ صاحب کی رونی شکل دیکھ میرے دل کی دھڑکن تیز ہو گئی اور دل کھول کر رویا، نہ جانے یہ رونا غصہ سے تھا یا صدمہ سے ابھی تک تعین نہیں کر پایا، بہرحال اتفاق سے گھر میں اکیلا تھا اس لئے خود ہی دلجوئی کرنا پڑی۔

برٹش آرمی کی انجیئرنگ کور سے ریٹائرڈ افسر کا بیٹا ہونے کے ناطے میں نے ہمیشہ آرمی سے محبت کی ہے اور اس کا دفاع کیا ہے، میرے اکثر دوست و احباب فوج کی سیاسی مداخلت کا تذکرہ کرتے تھے لیکن میں نے ہمیشہ آرمی کو ملکی دفاع کا ضامن قرار دیا ہے اور اسلامی ممالک میں واحد ایٹمی قوت کے طور پر عالم اسلام میں قابل فخر سمجھا ہے، البتہ چھ اپریل کی آدھی رات سپریم کورٹ کا کھلنا اور متنازعہ فیصلہ اور پھر رات گئے جنرل باجوہ آئی ایس آئی چیف کی معیت میں وزیر اعظم کی رہائش گاہ پر اس پر دھونس ڈالنا ایس عوامل ہیں جو میرے جیسے لاکھوں محب وطن افراد کو اپنی ہردلعزیز فوج کے کردار بارے رائے تبدیل کرنے پر مجبور کر رہے ہیں۔

بطور  آرمی چیف جب آپ نے ملک کے دفاع اور حفاظت کی قسم کھائی ہے، تو آپ ایک ضمانت پر جرائم پیشہ لٹیرے کے سامنے یوں بے بس ہونگے اور یوں ہتھیار ڈال دیں گے، کوئی سوچ بھی نہیں سکتا تھا، آرمی چیف ایسے لوگوں کے سامنے لیٹ گیا جن کو سپریم کورٹ آف پاکستان نے گارڈ فادر اور سسلین مافیا سے تشبیہ دی ہے، باجوہ صاحب آپکی یہ تصویر بہت بھیانک تصور پیش کر رہی تھی۔

پاکستان آرمی اور اس کے چیف کا مسئلہ کیاہے، میری سمجھ میں نہیں آ رہا؛

کیا ہماری فوج اخلاقی طور پر اس قدر گر چکی ہے کہ اس کا چیف اور سینئر جنرلز ایسے ٹولہ کو سیلوٹ کرنے پر مجبور ہیں جس کی کیبینٹ کے بیشتر وزراء جوڈیشل ضمانت پر ہیں؟ 

کیا یہ فوج اور اس کا چیف بھول گئے ہیں کہ یہ ٹولہ ان کے خلاف کتنی گندی زبان استعمال کرتا رہا ہے؟ 

جنرل صاحبان، اگر عمران خان، آپکو بوجوہ قبول نہیں رہا تھا تو آپ کو بائیس کروڑ کی آبادی میں کوئی ایک “بندے دا پتر” نظر نہ آیا؟ 

کیا آپ بطور آرمی چیف اخلاقی پستی کی اتنی گہرائی میں گر چکے تھے کہ فوج کو بدنام زمانہ چوروں، لٹیروں، منی لانڈرنگ میں ملوث گروہ کے سپرد کر دیا؟ 

کیا شریف فیملی کی پچھلے پینتیس سال کی لوٹ گھسوٹ آپ میں سےکسی کو یاد نہ آئی؟ 

کہیں ایسا تو نہیں کہ یہ سارا ڈرامہ ذاتی مفاد کے تحت رچایا گیا اور ملک کو ایک بار پھر مغرب اور امریکہ کی غلامی میں دھکیل دیا گیا ہے؟ 

جنرل صاحب اور آپکی رفقا کو امریکہ بہادر کا عموی رویہ اور انڈیا کی طرف خصوصی جھکاؤ بالکل یاد نہ آیا؟

جنرل باجوہ صاحب آپکی شہباز کے سامنے تصویر پاکستان کے باشعور طبقۂ کیلئے لمحہ فکریہ تو ہے، یہ تصویر حاضر سروس اور ریٹائرڈ فوجی افسران اور جوانوں کیلئے بھی یقیناً دکھ اور درد کا باعث بنی ہو گی۔ وہ افسر اور جوان جنہوں نے War against Terror کے دوران بیش بہا قربانیاں دیں اور دے رہے ہیں، ان میں کچھ افسران دلیری سے اپنے جذبات کا اظہار بھی کر رہے ہیں، جبکہ باقی اندر ہی اندر ایک عجیب گھٹن اور مایوسی محسوس کر رہے ہیں۔ میرے جیسے لاکھوں نہیں تو ہزاروں افراد سوال کر رہے ہیں کہ آخر ایسا کیوں کیا گیا؟ بہت سی theories اور قیاس آرائیاں کی جا رہی تھیں۔ سفیر پاکستان کا نیشنل سیکیورٹی کمیٹی کے سامنے بیان اور امریکن دفاعی تجزیہ کار کا آج کا بیان ایسی مداخلت اور سازش کی تھیوری کو تقویت نہیں بلکہ ثابت کرنے کیلئے کافی ہے۔ آخر کیوں اور کن مقاصد کیلئے آرمی افسران اور جوانوں کو اس ذلت سے دوچار کیا گیا ہے، کیا باجوہ صاحب آپ مزید توسیع کے چکر میں ہیں؟ کیا اپنی مرضی کا چیف لانا چاہتے ہیں؟ جو ان ٹھگوں کی موجودگی میں یقینی ہے، یا پھر آپ امریکن سے ساز باز کرکے جنرل کیانی کی طرح آسٹریلیا فرار ہونے کا سوچ رہے ہیں۔

 

سانحۂ مشرقی پاکستان کے بعد پہلی دفعہ آرمی کا مورال اس قدر گرا دیکھاہے جس کا اندازہ حاضر سروس اور ریٹائرڈ افسران کے سوشل میڈیا پر بیانات اور تبصرہ سے خوب لگایا جا سکتا ہے اور یہ اس majority کے جذبات کی ترجمانی ہے جو آرمی ڈسپلن کی وجہ سے خاموش ہیں۔ جنرل صاحب آپ بتدریج وضاحت پر وضاحت دیتے نظر آتے ہیں اور بار بار اصرار کر رہے ہیں کہ آپ کس طرح وہ سابق حکومت کو گڈ گورنس بالخصوص پنجاب اور خیبر پختون خواہ کے وزرائے اعلی کی تبدیلی بارے اصرار کرتے رہے ہیں، مزید یہ کہ وہ حکومتی پارٹی کی اکثریت اور سینٹ الیکشن میں کس طرح آپ سابق حکومت کو سپورٹ کرتے رہے ہیں۔ کیا آپ جیسی سیاسی مداخلت پنجاب اور خیبر صوبوں میں کر رہے تھے، کمانڈرز کی پروموشن اور تبادلوں پر بھی گوارہ کریں گے؟

آپکی ریٹائرڈ آرمی افسران کے سامنے سب صفائیاں اور توضیحات اور آرمی کےسپوکس پرسن کے بیانات بالکل فضول ہیں اور

وہ سپریم کورٹ جہاں لوگ پھانسی چڑ جانے کے بعد بری ہو اس کا آدھی رات کو عدالت لگا کر مشکوک فیصلہ کرنا، جیو نیوز کی خبر کہ عمران خان، جنرل باجوہ صاحب کو برخواست کرنے والا تھا، پر آدھی رات کو اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ کا کھلنا اور بغیر کسی پیٹیشن کے آرڈر لکھ کر انتظار کرنا ایسے عوامل ہیں جو باجوہ صاحب آپ اور آپکے ساتھی کبھی ہضم نہ کر پائیں گے۔ اس امر کا بخوبی اندازہ لگایا جا سکتا ہے کہ بائیس کروڑ  عوام میں نوجوانوں کی اکثریت عمران خان کے بیانیہ کو درست تسلیم کرتی ہے، لاہور کے تاریخی جلسہ میں شامل جوانوں کے جذبات کا اندازہ لگانا مشکل نہیں، خدا نہ کرے کہ نوجوانوں کا یہ مشتعل ہجوم اسلام آباد کی طرف رواں دواں ہو اور اسلام آباد پولیس ان کو کنٹرول کرنے میں ناکام ہو جائے۔ ایسی صورت میں یقیناً آرمی کو مداخلت کرنا پڑے گی۔ فوجی افسران اور جوانوں کی بد دلی اور مایوسی کو دیکھ اندازہ لگایا جا سکتا ہے کہ وہ نوجوانوں کے اس مشتعل ہجوم کے خلاف طاقت استعمال کرنے سے گریز کریں گے۔ فوج اور عوام میں اعتماد کی خلیج اور بے یقینی کی صورت حال کسی طرح بھی فوج اور ملک کے مفاد میں نہیں۔

باجوہ صاحب آپکو اپنی غلطیوں، بلکہ blunders زیادہ مناسب رہے گا، کا ازالہ کرنا ہو گا اور فوری کرنا ہوگا، ملک کے وفادار شہری اور اپنی فوج سے بے پناہ محبت رکھنے کی حیثیت سے میں مندرجہ ذیل تجاویز قابل عمل اور وقت کی عین ضرورت سمجھتا ہوں:

۱- سب سے پہلے تو آپکو اپنے protege شہباز سے بغیر کسی تاخیر فوری الیکشن کا اعلان کرانا ہو گا تاکہ مشتعل جوانوں کا دھیان آرمی کی طرف سے ہٹ کر الیکشن کی طرف ہو جائے۔ 

۲- دوسرا اہم اقدام اپنی اور فوج کی عزت و عظمت عوام کی نظروں میں بحال کرنے کیلئے، باجوہ صاحب آپکو فی الفور کور کمانڈر کانفرنس بلا کر اپنے استعفی کا اعلان کرنا ہو گا اور اس کے ساتھ ہی کانفرنس کے شرکاء کی رضامندی سے تین نام کٹھ پتلی وزیر اعظم کو پیش کرنا ہوں گے تاکہ مجوزہ الیکشن سے پہلے آرمی کے نئے سربراہ کی تقرری ہو سکے

۔ ۳- قابل قبول الیکشن نتائج کیلئے نئے چیف الیکشن کمشنر کا تقرر وقت کی اہم ضرورت ہے، موجودہ کمشنر اپنے کرتوتوں کی وجہ سے عوام کا اعتماد بالکل کھو چکے ہیں۔

میری ناقص رائے میں ان اقدام سے عوام میں فوج کا بالعموم اور آرمی top brass کا بالخصوص، کھویا ہؤا اعتماد کسی حد تک بحال ہونے مدد ملے گی، جو حالات کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔

 الیکشن کیلئے یقیناً  ایک قابل اعتماد interim setup کی ضرورت ہوگی تاکہ منتخب ہونے والے نمائندے عوامی سطح پر قابل قبول ہوں، نہ کہ ۱۶۵سیٹوں کے مقابلہ میں ۸۵ سیٹوں والی کرپشن سے لت پت پارٹی عوام پر ٹھونسی جائے۔

General Bajwa and his Associate Commanders must realise that enough is enough and people can not and will not take it any more. The Army must stop indulging in political engineering but rather correct the wrongs done by surrendering to known crooks.

I sincerely hope that sense prevails in the best interests of the country.

My take on situation:

Misleading info feedback by intelligence staff of 'all Ok' is cancerous at this point in time. Has all ok not done enough damage to the nation. Fallacious 'staff work' has to stop. False attempts to portray that few youngsters at social media are creating undue fuss while spirit and support is with the army leadership. The statement is only true till army not it’s leadership. 'Spirit and support of the nation' is not with army leadership unless of course nation means PDM. 

I need not reaffirm love for country and Army on this forum because I have taken oath and lived it. However, it is not possible to keep faith in 'Pakistaniat' of Army lordship when we get to hear excuses like Aleem was not made CM, sunta nahin, forcing democratically elected Chief Exective to remain US centric, coercing for IMF slavery etc. Putting convicts and accused at helm of affairs and tenaciously claiming Army is 'apolitical', 'neutral' etc and making a laughing stock of the prestigious institution. Did someone put up comments of people to high ups on last week's ISPR release of Sinf e Ahan? Did they not see what that young man said at Sialkot Cantt entrance when MP told him,'We have orders not to allow flags (PTI flag only) inside cantt? My worst fears are coming true that people are coming face to face with their army and those responsible are behind hundred protective layers paid for by the same people. Many serving & most retd are resentful to say the least. Nation less PDM feels betrayed. Nokri bazi, material interests, pretence of zero error syndrome (for junior cadre only) has put men under immense strain in past three decades so much that some of my coursemates in their early 40s have passed away due to cardiac arrest and few others living with minor strokes and stents. Immense pressures of service inculcate submissive mental slavery, curbs initiative and turns leaders of men into herd of sheep. And one person at the top of hierarchy one day gets to know that he is not answerable to anyone. Most of top men failed to reconcile with sudden burst of Chappar Parh power. Reaction to decades of mental slavery is that when one person becomes unconditional King of the land then right, flawed or wrong, no one could question his decisions or policy line nor would he listen (mostly). To top it all, extension. Now anyone coming to 'power' would like to hang on to it for 3+5 years as these political goons gave it a legal cover through legislation to get assurances for at least two terms and vice versa. In terms of Command, what to talk of Army's Command, those who have commanded units would tell you that grip on the affairs in third year is next level. Command experience of Chief and seniority gap with Corps Commanders is creating a huge gap between Command and under command. Besides, Army’s own system of promotions is affected. Absolute power can be detrimental. As a consequence, multiple quiesce allegations are circulating against COAS. An unheard of mess.  Regardless of the fact that allegations are true or false, it is a cause of  disrepute to the institution. For incoming Chief (this November or after two more Novembers) first daunting task would be image building,  Win Hearts and Minds of own people and back to basics with tough training regimes. We have been going in circles in this regard.

One action of dignity i.e Chief’s resignation. And other, while remaining “apolitical” for one more time just the way they facilitated regime change, have govt announce general elections ASAP to redeem himself, protect the image of Army and honour the blood our Shaheeds. It would be extremely painful to see things escalating from hot verbal exchanges to next phase of physical harm on both sides. 

Time to call spade a spade otherwise this saga shall continue. Everything written here is in good faith for enhancing the stature of the institution I owe everything. And if someone wants to derive wrong conclusions then its their problem.

May Allah continue to keep His Hand on Pak Army.  May Allah protect Pakistan. Ameen

Surah Al Kahf - Ayah No 62

Assalam o Alaikum. Shab-e-Juma Mubarak. As we bid farewell to another Ramadan, may Allah accept your efforts and be pleased with you. Eid Mubarak and as the night of Juma sets in, its Al Kahf Time. 

Last Ayah 61 contained an interesting expression that they forgot and the fish took its course. Reportedly, the fish was fried and they were all set to eat it. But it slipped away in to the sea. Dead or fried fish finding its way into the sea? Yes, it does. Secondly, metaphysical element is present in all stories of Al Kahf. Finally, we need to undersrand that Metaphysical world is the real world. It existed way before our existence and it will continue to exist way after the closure of life on earth. Hence, Metaphysical world is permanent and our physical world is not only temporary but perishable. 

Today's Ayah 62, is dialogue between master (Musa AS) and his aide (reportedly, Yusha Inb Noon). Remember, the story is about knowledge. Allah swt being The Creator of storytellers and Laureates, had taken upon Himself to tell this story. Note the intricate yet detailed account of story setting which keeps referring back to the theme of the story i.e. knowledge. On Allah swt's direction, as The Travelers set out in  quest to meet most knowledgeable man (reportedly, Khizar AS) under the sky, they  feel the sufferings and fatigues of a long journey. The Master asks his Aide for food. Again the subtlety at its very best because Allah swt not only had to tell a story but teach us manners how the communication should take place between The Master and The Pupil. It is the prerogative of The Master to calm for a break and for food. On the other hand,  out of respect despite being fatigued and hunger the pupil shall develop the patience not to ask for it. Lastly, the lessons to take home in this story by Musa AS and through him for us must have to do with knowledge or lack of it. And first thing we know that they had not only crossed the point of meeting but the fish had left them without their knowledge. So the limitation of forgetfulness combined with knowledge (lack of) may keep us humble. Because, first casualty of knowledge, Iblees also had knowledge but lacked humility. 

On personal note, the more I know, I come to know that I know not.

May Allah help us from falling prey to the trap of knowledge. Ameen
