Pak-US bondage -Part 2

There is no need to analyse the caretaker government or its leader Kakar as it has been selected by Washington and her procurers to provide the false umbrella of political independence and constitutionality in order to facilitate American takeover of the economy through the IMF and the sale of Pakistan as well as prepare the ground for another theatre of elections with Washington’s usual candidates which are kept on ice such as Nawaz Sharif and the new kid on the block - Bilawal Zardari or Bhutto. This was clear when Blome met Kakar this week and instructed the caretaker government clearly that “ it should hold elections and follow the economic conditions and program of the IMF”.

It took my thickhead three decades (two in uniform and one after doffing it) to decipher what actually was happening to us. Narrative of corruption was built against politicians during late nineties and on the turn of millennia. We got convinced to the core that root cause our misery was ‘dearth of men’ and politicians were to be blamed for it. Then we get introduced to new political face and idea which promised change like never before, albeit it was another ‘project’. Like, previous projects, it had a shelf life after which it had to be shelved. The right time to shelf such projects is when the ‘subject’ starts to assert him/  herself. When they know too much and start signalling propensity to betray the masters home and abroad. Not only Washington demands full submission of politicians but the go-between power hub also demands total submission of political leaders - a problem downrightly detested by Washington. ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto were extinguished due to their refusal whereas, Nawaz Sharif and now Imran Khan have been punished and put on ice pending their submission, as Washington still requires tried, tested and loyal political leaders. So this power play between masters and middle-men over slaves (politicians + nation) continues on cost benefit based analysis. For example, Nawaz Sharif was saved from the wrath of Pervez Musharraf by Saudi intervention who whisked him away, and throughout  Imran Khan’s tenure Washington ensured that executioners stick to ‘constitutional means” in dealing with him. However, despite their wholehearted readiness to remain Washington’s poodles, real hurdle for ‘acceptance’ of PPP and PML (N) is their leadership’s dislike and unwillingness to remain puppets of local masters.

In the hindsight, politicians (all of them) apart from skilful demolition of their counterparts are innocent people. Again, I personally feel extremely sorry for demonising them falling prey to the ‘narrative’. Ironically, not abiding by the narrative back then and even now would mean treacherous rather traitorous act.

Part 3 to follow.
