Assalam o alaikum. Shab-e-Juma Mubarak with a gentle reminder to recite Al Kahf or part of it for protection against our enemy.
When we look around, it seems that arrival of Dajjal is in the offing. That's the half empty part. Half full part is arrival of Mehdi & Isa AS to counter this menace. However, Dajjali fitna will be so egregious that even people of Imaan shall find themselves in a fix. It would be extremely difficult to tell the difference between right and wrong. The stage is set. It seems that we are already there except the announcement of Dajjal’s arrival on the scene.
How do we prepare for such a calamity? The start point should be through awareness. Whether appearance of this fitna is weeks or centuries away, we ought to equip our next generation(s) to withstand this adversity. One such measure is understanding and recitation of Al Kahf which shall shield our Imaan as a protective layer.
Coming over to today's Ayah No 6 which is continuation of Ayah 5. Allah swt showing his mercy through compassionate natureof Prophet SAW. Mercy of Prophet is at an ultimate level. For those who out of ignorance have taken Prophet of Allah, Isa AS as his son and others who wouldn't believe, Prophet SAW was so concerned about their Akhirah that Allah swt had to intervene and asked him not be so hard on himself. Prophet SAW having seen the 'other side', knew the implications. His SAW's concerns about everyone including you and me binds us into an amazing relation. Centuries before our birth, He SAW prayed and cried for us. This makes Him SAW dear to us more than our parents and children as part our Imaan. We must also take away this lesson from His life to be merciful. We need to learn to be forgiving by raising our tolerance levels. We need a lot of tolerance in our society.
Last point from this Ayah that when people wouldn’t listen, Aqa Alaihe Salam was concerned and hard on himself quite contrary to our version of Islam where we (with little knowledge and practice of religion) get harsh on others.
May Allah help us follow Sunnah in its right spirit. Ameen
